How do you decide which technology to use for a project?
We start with what the project actually needs, not with what we prefer building in. Timeline, expected scale, team size, and what you'll need to maintain the product after launch all factor in. A fast MVP and a system meant to run for ten years call for different choices, even if the end goal looks similar on paper.
We already use a specific tech stack. Can you work within it?
In most cases, yes. If your stack is one we work in regularly, we build directly within it. If it's something less common, we'll be upfront about that during scoping rather than after the project has started, so there are no surprises about ramp-up time or cost.
Can you take over and maintain an existing codebase?
Yes. We start with a code audit to understand what's there before touching anything, since inheriting a codebase blind usually causes more problems than it solves. From there we can maintain it as-is, refactor specific parts, or plan a longer-term modernization if the codebase genuinely needs it.
Should I build native apps or cross-platform with Flutter or React Native?
It depends on what the app needs to do. Cross-platform gets you to both iOS and Android faster with one codebase, and works well for most business apps. Native makes more sense when you need deep access to device hardware or platform-specific performance that cross-platform frameworks handle less well. We'll tell you honestly which one fits your case instead of defaulting to whichever is easier for us.
Do you build with newer frameworks, or only established ones?
We lean toward proven technology over whatever is newest. A framework that's popular today but abandoned in two years leaves you with a maintenance problem, not an advantage. That said, we do work with newer tools like Next.js when they genuinely fit the project better than the established alternative.
What happens if the technology choice needs to change mid-project?
It happens less often than people expect, since most technology decisions get made carefully upfront. But if requirements shift enough to warrant a change, we'll flag it as soon as we see it, explain the tradeoff in cost and timeline, and let you make the call rather than quietly working around a decision that no longer fits.
